Cruise challenges Fairchild to title re-match!
"Windy City War Machine"
says she will put
ANYTHING on the line
for a title shot!!!
Following the most recent
Magnificent Ladies Wrestling taping,
held on July 23rd
at the MLW Studios
in south Memphis,TN,
Veronica Fairchild hosted
an exclusive invitation-only victory celebration
in her penthouse suite
at a downtown Memphis hotel.
"Another taping down,one more to go,"
she said triumphantly
while toasting champagne during the gathering.
"After the next taping,my contract comes to an end,
and I will walk away from professional wrestling
as the final MLW champion.
MLW will probably go out of business
after I leave,
but that's a small price to pay
for being consumed by my greatness."

What Fairchild did not know
is that
"The Windy City War Machine"
Melanie Cruise
had contacted the MLW offices
immediately following the July 23 taping
to dispute the champion's claim
that she had defeated everyone
she had faced.
"Veronica is running her big blonde mouth,
talking about how she beat all of her challengers,"
Cruise said angrily.
"But that's a bold-faced lie.
She didn't beat me
the only time I faced her for the title.
She cheated like hell,
and the best she could do
was narrowly escape
with a time-limit draw."
Cruise followed that claim
with a direct challenge to Fairchild.
"I'll put ANYTHING
on the line
to get a championship re-match against Veronica,"
Cruise said.
"I'll even put my own career on the line.
But this time it has to be
a NO-TIME-LIMIT match.
And just to show
that I'm not afraid of Veronica's cheating,
I want it to be a
NO-DISQUALIFICATION
too!!!"
MLW legal counsel has already
started drafting the contract
in preparation for sanctioning the match.
There is still no word
at the time of this release
regarding whether Fairchild
will accept the challenge
or simply forfeit her title
and retire.
