Fusion Tradition Wrestling Fighting Spirit Tournament 2011 results


Night 1

Number 1 Bob defeated Mike Promo by Disqualification to become the new Number one contender to the Interim Fusion Championship

In an opening round match of Fighting Spirit 2011, Dyron Flynn and Matt Korbaine defeated Komatose and JC Crow with a Korbaine 450 Splash on Crow.

In an opening round match of Fighting Spirit 2011, Supreme Lee Great and Jeremiah Plunkett defeated Shane Steel and Bad Boy Dixon via stereo lariats and a double pin.

In an opening round match of Fighting Spirit 2011, Damien Payne and Jeremy Flynt defeated Mike Fyre and Mike Jones when Jones laid down for his normal tag partner Payne.

In the final opening round match of Fighting Spirit 2011, Jeremy Travis won in a handicap match over Shane Smalls and Aaron XTC with a German Suplex on XTC. Smalls was distracted on the floor by Chris Norte and was then taken out by a powerful right hand by The WhiteOut's enforcer Jeremiah Plunkett. Travis' scheduled tag partner, Vortex, was not in the building.

Chris Norte successfully defended the Interim Fusion Championship against Daddy Mac with the Spike.


Night 2

A random drawing was held to name replacements for Vortex and Matt Korbaine, who had sustained an injury the previous evening. Komatose and Bad Boy Dixon were re-entered into the tournament.

In a quarterfinal round match of Fighting Spirit 2011, Jeremy Travis defeated Bad Boy Dixon with Just Facelock.

In a quarterfinal round match of Fighting Spirit 2011, Jeremy Flynt defeated Damien Payne via judges' decision after the 20 minute time limit expired.

Logan Shane defeated the returning Dirty White Boy after two chair shots.

In a quarterfinal round match of Fighting Spirit 2011, Komatose defeated Dyron Flynn with a school boy rollup.

In a quarterfinal round match of Fighting Spirit 2011, Jeremiah Plunkett defeated Supreme Lee Great with a lariat.

Perfection Unlimited successfully defended the tag titles against Daddy Mac and The Drifter.

In a semifinal round match of Fighting Spirit 2011, Jeremy Travis defeated Komatose with Just Facelock.

In a semifinal round match of Fighting Spirit 2011, Jeremy Flynt defeated Jeremiah Plunkett with the Bus Driver.

Ryan Jeffries defeated Mike Promo with a standing knee strike to successfully defend the Fusion Championship.

Number 1 Bob defeated Chris Norte to become the new Interim Fusion Champion with the Revolver. However the decision was reversed by CEO Nick White when Bob took off his mask to reveal he was actually Shane Smalls, who had been banned from the building and had had all title shots against Chris Norte revoked.

In the Finals of Fighting Spirit 2011, Jeremy Flynt defeated Jeremy Travis with the Bus Driver.

Flynt gave an emotionally charged speech, thanking the fans, the boys in the back, and management of FTW. He earned a trophy, and a future title shot at the time of his choosing. Instead of taking that title shot for himself, he took the contract which he had yet to sign and gave to it a man he felt had been wronged a few times too man, Shane Smalls. Smalls signed the contract and cashed in immediately, which led to...

Shane Smalls defeated Chris Norte to become the NEW Interim Fusion Champion with a crucifix roll-up. After the match, the locker room emptied and Ryan Jeffries, who had wrestled what was apparently his final match, presented the Fusion Championship to Smalls to unify the belts.
